Ones Own Self
I started my life with my parents,
I did the mum and dad thing,
Fair enough,
I always knew there were more people in my head.
I roamed with my unreal heart,
Trying my best to appreciate a good ride,
Stepping into dusty roads under impossible skies,
I’d wake up to the cold howling world,
Hands in my pocket I did what I liked.
I think too much,
Maybe I don’t think enough,
When we have...

Fishy Paper Square #6: The Fox
For Fishy Paper Square #6 we asked our friends Daley and Lizzy to come up with a design using a printing method we haven’t used yet (we’d done two illustrated booklets, a Christmas postcard, a letterpress lyrics card and a comic). Lizzy suggested monoprinting, and came up with the fox design inspired by Juju’s words.
It’s called monoprinting because you can only make...

Little Fish in session on Bob Harris Sunday (Radio...
From the BBC site:
We had a great time recording this with Bob. When you’re playing in a “talk radio” studio you don’t get monitor mixes through headphones. Juju just sang and played completely acoustic and I had a little quiet practice amp to hear the organ. Listening to it this morning, with the radio compression and tasty reverb it sounds much better. ;)
This...

Expect more of these, until we all become too dizzy to see the screen and fall off our chairs.

Top 10 Things To Do This Week (in Singapore) -... →
And hey - what do you know? We’re in there!
We were also surprised to spot Mélanie Pain in there too. Mélanie is the original singer of Nouvelle Vague, and we met her when we played with them in Turkey a few months ago. She’s over here playing her solo stuff, and it’s awesome that we get to see it.

Helene's home: New music: Little Fish →
We just found this lovely blog written about us. For us, we just don’t know what is going on out there in the world regarding our music, so when these blogs pop up, it makes it all worth it. Thanks Helene. Keep writing.

Timbre Music : LIttle Fish (UK) →
We are flying to Singapore tomorrow to play some shows in Singapore. Here is the site where you can find our some information about the shows should you happen to be in the area. We are very excited. Traveling and meeting new people is what being in a band is all about.
Ben plays a little jazz at the end of us practicing Wonderful before leaving to Singapore on Friday.

As you probably know, Nez left the band earlier this year to be with his family which has meant that Ben and I now have to figure out a way of evolving the sound of Little Fish. We have been thinking about this a lot over the past months and have lots of ideas that we want to explore next.
These past months we have been talking with a good friend of ours called Narco. Narco is a producer and...

Anonymous asked: Hi, Love the 1st Fish Bowl Sessions EP. Do you have any plans to release the rest of the material on a future EP? The version of Wonderful with Gaz, and Morning Call, are out of this world! Thanks, Nusrevlis.

I sat here this evening in a cold quiet room and sketched out some lyrics to a new song that I am writing. The song isn’t finished but here are some of the lyrics. I never know which song is ever going to turn out good and make it beyond light and shade, from pen and paper to full colour song. I have lost many lyrics in the past with songs that have never been sung. Words are important to...

Craig Lewis - Funding for the benefit of Little... →
I’ve mentioned the Unbound crowdsourcing project a few times before as a great example of how to turn the various creative arts industries on their heads, but this time it’s personal. Let me explain.
Go and read this. Craig (@KuangEleven) is a legend and talks a lot of sense about music.

A nice little moment in the middle of this month’s Nightshift (PDF):
With Truck Store hosting their own Not Closing Down party further along Cowley Road, we manage to sneak out to see LITTLE FISH, now a duo after the departure of drummer Nez. Juju and Ben are typically epic and intimate in the manner only the special few are capable of and they provide us with today’s golden moment in...

The Poet
Pale and shaken from the morning, Elsie was drunk as hell. Her face flushed with half a smile and half a frown as she wondered blindly, looking for somewhere to go. The blind man had ripped out the sun from the sky so she tried to escape into the shadows where behind her, she watched the sky melt. A new destiny can only be born out of an open wound. As she walked into the night, the stars fought...

Your Heart
No one will ever love you like I do.
Why?
Because I know you by heart, because, I know your heart.

Maybe they forgot.
Sophie sent us an email about the Handbook yesterday morning:
Why hasn’t everyone on the Little Fish mailing list pledged?? Maybe they forgot, or lots of people assumed everyone else would pledge so it wouldn’t matter if they never got round to it.. I don’t know. But it’s annoying me. So it must be annoying you. But I don’t know what to do. I have tweeted about it...

This Is Why.
On the yellow houses and their gardens, come rain or good weather, it does not matter whether Little Fish stays elusive and unattainable. Whatever the bird of paradise sings, at the heights of its flamboyance, and what the most sensitive of roses provokes come morning: neither impresses us. We will always hold ourselves untameable. Little Fish, by virtue and nature, is independent and free.
From...

Cowboy
Worn Levis.
Torn shirt.
Grinding my teeth, grinding my teeth, “hey” I said “Throw me a cigarette”.
I took a match out of the box that was on the table and made my cigarette glow in the dark. It hung from my lips. Being the source of my parent’s shame gave me the strength to be a thief. I’d always wanted to steal. As a kid, I’d always loved watching old cowboy flicks. I especially loved the...
