Now that music’s gone all digital we miss a lot of the great paper that used to come with records and CDs – the artwork, the poetry, the love…
So in 2010 we sent out paper presents to our fans – Fishy Paper Squares. Booklets and postcards with photos, drawings, poems, stories, lyrics and magical surprise gifts, all lovingly stitched, addressed, stamped and posted by hand. And we did it for free.

It was so popular that we ended up spending hundreds of pounds of our own money (no big label paying for this stuff any more…) to send these presents around the world. We love doing it, but making a living as a band is hard enough already!
To make the Paper Club sustainable we’ve started charging some money. We don’t want it to become just another bit of merch – we still want to give you the magic of receiving presents in the post and most importantly, we want the Fishy Paper Squares to be really good.
So here’s how it works. If you want to subscribe to the New Original Paper Club™ for 2011 you can sign up for £10 on our shop. That tenner will go towards the printing and the stamps and you’ll get four top-quality Fishy Paper Squares.

The first Fishy Paper Square of the year was sent out on Friday 22nd April to 100 or so people. They were all be addressed by hand (with a bit of help from the Squids) and signed by Juju. We persuaded our talented friend Nick Gill to create an amazing limited edition letterpress print of Juju’s lyrics on beautiful thick card:
Wendy Phillips, the artist who created all the models and backdrops for the Wonderful video has drawn a 32-page comic book of the video, which we’re printing up and sending out to the Paper Club! Here’s a quick preview:
Sign up to the Paper Club now to get the comic in late August!
