[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]Barb Morrison was producing Debbie Harry’s solo album when she put us in touch with Debbie and we ended up on the Blondie tour. Matt Katz-Bohen was playing keys with Blondie (and wearing incredible suits).
The two of them got together in New York and made a literally insane remix of Lord’s Mistake. This is it (via soundcloud).
Get your dancin’ shoes on, people.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]As you probably know, Nez left the band earlier this year to be with his family which has meant that Ben and I now have to figure out a way of evolving the sound of Little Fish. We have been thinking about this a lot over the past months and have lots of ideas that we want to explore next.
These past months we have been talking with a good friend of ours called Narco. Narco is a producer and composer who I have known for almost fifteen years. One of my best friends. (I am pretty convinced that I was the one who gave him his nickname. At the time, all our friends knew quite a lot of boys with the name Richard and so giving them all nicknames was pretty vital to understanding who was who). I digress. My point is that as well as being a good friend Narco helped carved Little Fish’s sound when Nez and I first started the band. He recorded our first demos and gave me the idea of running my guitar through both guitar amp and bass amp at the same time to get the bass sound we lacked. At the time, the idea had been to find a bass player but as it turned out, we never did.
Ben and I want to record a new record and it is important for us not to lose the essence of what Little Fish is. I think that over the years, we sometimes lost ourselves. I want to reclaim LF’s soul and get things straight. Show people who we are and remind people why they believed in us from the start. After many conversations (and cups of tea) Ben and I decided that we needed to talk to Narco. Narco has always understood Little Fish. He gets it. When you record, you need an outside person to help articulate what you are saying. This person is most commonly known as a producer. If you work with the wrong producer your music will be wrongly interpreted and consequently badly recorded.
Narco owns a studio out in the countryside about half an hour drive from ours. We went to hang out with him this weekend and worked on Lord’s Mistake for a couple of days. We had a great time. Here’s a little sneak peek of us in the studio working on the track.

Little Fish - Lord’s Mistake (acoustic) (via JujuNez)
“The night, I lay in my bed of dark, the chain, hanging from my throat, Jesus isn’t there, only the cross that is his throne…”
Juju’s recording a weekly series of new songs, and calling it the Fish Bowl Sessions. Lord’s Mistake is another new song, “Who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here? We have to know and understand our past in order for us to understand our presence here, now, on earth .” Juju seems to have gone a bit dark this week and brings out the edgier side to Little Fish. Ben plays his trusty red Farfisa Compact (“The Rocket”).
We’ll be posting a new song every week (probably on a Sunday or Monday), so make sure you’re subscribed to something (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook or our mailing list) and we’ll let you know when they’re up… ;-)
