Just before we left Istanbul, we found time to record a little acoustic session in the hotel bar. The clerk from the front desk held the iPhone to record it and the barman lent Mike an apron.
Half way through Dead On Arrival the taxi guy turned up and started talking to the clerk. I’m no expert in Turkish, but I’m pretty sure you can hear him saying “WTF?!”.
We persuaded the taxi guy to hang on for a minute while we did a quick rendition of You, Me & The TV. Mike’s great idea of hitting a glass with a spoon backfired on the last beat of the song, when he got an interesting cymbal effect by putting the spoon through the glass.
The hotel staff were very understanding, and really cool. If you ever need a reasonable place to stay right in the heart of Istanbul, try Hotel Pera Rose.

The super-speedy guys at BBC Introducing have already posted 3 videos and a bunch of pictures of Little Fish headlining their stage at Reading last night. We had a great time, and the videos look awesome. It’s all on the Little Fish page on the BBC Reading and Leeds Festival site (which you can always get to by clicking the big badge up there nods up and left).

Nerasta spotted this video of Juju and Ben playing on the Gibson bus at Sonisphere. There’s a cool acoustic version of Darling Dear from the same session (where Juju almost puts the £2,000 guitar through the roof of the bus!) floating round the ‘Tube too…
